table of gate control

The table of gate control is a device created by the Nethen and was found by the Displaced group from the Order of Eight on the eastern side of the Karenth Centralis. The table was located inside of a hidden bunker a couple miles from the gate and without direct line of site. It has magical conduits running underground to Freedom's Gate allowing the users of the table to control the opeening and closing of the gate. When the area was abandoned by the Nethen millenia ago, the gate was left in a state where it would open every few hundred or thousand years for a period of time available in the battery and then close. However, once the batteries were charged and the Order learned how to control the gate, they were able to open it as needed.   The bunker was found by a group of apprentices who were out looking to find where a beam from the Porcupine Moon had landed and came across the small facility. Being chased by some orcs, who had come through the gate, they barricaded themselves inside. The main room held the table, and the group was able to turn the table on but did not know how to operate it. They shut down the table and explored the rest of the facility, reporting its location and the way to open the doors to the senior member of the Order of Eight. The Order now maintains a contingent of 10 people to operate the gate from this facility.
