Nevisent Wastes

Within the center of the continent of Nevisent exist the ruined wasteland known as the Nevisent Wastes. The lands are littered with the rusted and crumbled, the sharp and the putrid, and the bizarre and the deadly remains of a past civilization.   The wasteland is strewn with stone and metal ruin, buried among the decomposed and shattered sands. Viney plants of different species, often huge in size, live throughout the waste providing resources for the inhabitants. Some are sourced for water or food, others for cordage, and other used for clothing and shelter. Some are aggressive and carniverous, yet others are intelligent and helpful.   The past inhabitants predate the Nethen by tens and hundreds of thousands of years. The Nethen found the ruins early in their explorations, and are said to have studied them in depth, gathering strength and knowledge from the findings.   Now the Wastes are inhabited with a race of humanoids known as the Risklin, bred from gems and crystals by other risklin. Their primary city, Iineston, is near the center of the wastes in a portion which has begun to regenerate to its orinal natural state. The risklin help and nurture this process.   Throughout the outskirts of the wastes are the camps of explorers and groups that have tried to study and gain access to the wastes. Some of these camps are still inhabited. Rora, City of has a small camp run by the Great Roran College of the Mystic Arts.

Geography

Encompassing the central band of Nevisent, the wastes are covered in sands, rubble, stone, and huge chunks of rusted and not unrusted metal. Ruins jut out of the ground in various places throughout the wastes, part of cities of a once great civilization, long lost to time. Groups of colored crystals can be found throughout the wastes ranging in size from tiny to monolithic.

Natural Resources

Interspersed within and among the ruins and buried remains are crystals of raw and sometimes tainted magical energies. Their colors range across the specturm and beyond, as does their size.
